Bonjour Martin,

Celui-ci is used to designate things rather close, and celui-la, for things rather distant.

But the meaning is the same.

Why is it 'celui-ci' a couple of times and then 'celui-là' all translated as "this one"?

Oui c'est un mot tres commun et courant dans le vocabulaire francais !

Par exemple : donne moi ce jouet sinon je vais me facher !
