| Sam: So you can get used to the French used in the real world. |
| Céline: The second time nice and slow, so you can follow and pick up the words and pronunciation. |
| Sam: And the third time with the translation, so that you can fully grasp and understand the conversation. |

| Sam:Here we’re going to go over the conversation again, but we’re going to slow it down, so that you can catch everything. |

| Céline: This time we’re going to give you the conversation one more time, with the English. |

| POST CONVERSATION BANTER |
| Céline: This conversation is a really useful conversation. It’s simple but very common. |
| Sam: Yes, it can be used whenever you’re saying goodbye to a friend. |
| Céline: But the interesting thing is that there’s two goodbyes in there. One is formal and one is informal, so we have the best of both worlds. |
| VOCAB AND PHRASE USAGE |
| Sam: That’s right, we certainly do. Okay, let’s take a look at the vocabulary and key phrases for this lesson. |
| Céline: First I’ll give you the word natural native speed. |
| Sam: Then I’ll give you the English. |
| Céline: Then I’ll break down the word by syllable. |
| Sam: So you can catch everything. |
| Céline: And say it right away. Then I’ll give you the word one more time, native speed. |

| Sam: It’s perfect to use as a farewell. This is the polite form, right? |
| Céline: Yes, it is, but we use with friends as well. This is the most common and the safest. |
| Sam: So what do we have that can be used when we’ll see people soon? |
| Céline: A bientôt! |
| Sam: “See you soon.” And can you help with our listening? |
| Céline: A bientôt! A bientôt! |
| Sam: Is this also formal? |
| Céline: A bit less formal than “au revoir”. |
| Sam: How about the informal one? |
| Céline: Salut! |
| Sam: Bye. |
| Céline: Salut. Salut. This one is really casual so you may use it with family and friends. |

| Sam: Kind of sad, isn’t it? |
| Céline: Well, yes, but we hardly say this one. Or maybe when you break up with your boyfriend or girlfriend? |
| Sam: Oh, that’s not good. |
