Postby VirginieMaries » July 15th, 2009 3:18 pm

Bonjour chers auditeurs!

Hello dear listeners!

My name is Virginie and I am a new teacher at FrenchPod101.com. I grew up in Toulouse and lived in Paris for a while. I've been a teacher of French as a Foreign Language for a few years now and I love it! Back when I lived in France (I now live in NYC), I was involved in theatre as an actress and director of a children's theatre company called La Traversée (unfortunately it no longer exists...).

OK enough about me, I want to know about you guys!!

You know what I would love you to do (along with the whole FrenchPod101 team)?
Leave comments, suggestions, ask questions about anything France/French related (but if you want to talk about the weather, it's also fine with me!!) in the comment section of each lessons! The FrenchPod101 team loves to chat and is very talkative - hence this post ...

Your turn now!

Let's start with a must ask question: why are you studying French?

See you soon around this corner!

Virginie

I'd like to go to Europe at some time in the future; everyone I know there is from France, England, or Brussels, so I think French would be a big help in getting around. Obviously I already speak English. ;)

Bonjour Maxiewawa!

Pour utiliser le verbe "habiter" , c'est comme ça "J'habite", aussi le bon article c'est "en", donc "J'habite en Australie"

Bien Fait!

Hey Maxiewawa!

I was wondering...where do you live in Australia?

If by any chance you live in Melbourne, there is the annual International Film Festival from July 24th to August 9th. It offers a good choice of French Movies from the Nouvelle Vague. I came across the info while browsing for French events abroad (meaning, outside France).

That is of course, bien sûr, if you like French films!

J'espère que tu vas bien,

Hope you're well,

Virginie

Bonjour Alicia !

Ask me what you want!

Hello Bookmiserblue!
You would say "He/She already told that" in English, right?

So in French :
Il/Elle me l'a déjà dit.
Il/elle l'a déjà dit.

Hope this helps !
Cheers,
Mélanie

I have been studying French for six months, with a tutor, with various net services, e.g. Pimsleur and have French grammar books. I also spent 3 weeks in Paris during the month of May. I also lived in Paris for two years in the '70's. I take one class a week at a local high school. I am retired so I have many hours to study per day and I do but I am not making progress. My plan is to go a French school for 3 months beginning in February 2015. I want to be at least conversational when I go. My pronunciation is deplorable. When meeting an American speaking English who happens to be fluent in French (perhaps lived with a family for a year in France) I tend to freeze up and do not know what to say. Can you get me to that next level. My vocabulary is not bad I would say and I can read Paris Match and am currently reading Petit Nicolas fait du sport. Do you think I can be helped with FenchPod 101? I think I want just a little more advanced learning than just saying hello, good bye, je m'appelle Don.

I would be interested in hearing from you. One thing I would like to do is to be able to listen to French lessons on my iPhone when I walk. Can I do that on FrenchPod?

Merci et a bientot.
