ne...ni...ni

Postby garydpoole2405 » February 25th, 2014 1:01 pm

Bonjour FrenchPod101

I have a question regarding the usage of ne...ni...ni ?

I know how it should be used, for example, "He eats neither apples nor oranges". However, my question relates to whether the definite article should be used after using the ni ?

So should it be:

"Il ne mange ni les oranges ni les pommes"

or

"Il ne mange ni oranges ni pommes"

The problem is that when researching the answer, I've seen usage both with and without the definite article :? Perhaps it doesn't matter :?

Salut

Gary

Hi Gary !

Merci pour votre commentaire !

Both are correct ! There is no difference.
But if you say "il ne mange ni orange ni pomme" orange and pomme must be in singular form.

Bonne journée !
